Alexis Skuras is the founder of Detroit Integrated Care and a doctorally prepared, dual-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist. She specializes in psychiatric care, addiction medicine, Hepatitis C treatment, and integrated primary care for individuals with complex medical and behavioral health needs.

Alexis is one of only thirteen nurses in Michigan certified as an Advanced Practice Addictions Nurse (CARN-AP), reflecting advanced expertise in the treatment of substance use disorders. She has been recognized by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services as one of Michigan's highest-volume Hepatitis C treatment providers and has led initiatives to expand access to Hepatitis C screening and evidence-based treatment for underserved populations. Throughout her career, she has cared for patients across acute care settings, outpatient practice, and community settings, with a focus on integrating physical and behavioral healthcare.

In addition to clinical practice, Alexis serves as a nursing faculty member and mentors graduate nursing students throughout Michigan. She has authored peer-reviewed publications and leads quality improvement and clinical practice initiatives aimed at advancing evidence-based care. She has received multiple honors recognizing her contributions to patient care, education, research, and clinical innovation.

Alexis is passionate about reducing stigma surrounding mental health, addiction, and chronic illness. She believes in meeting people where they are, embracing a harm reduction approach, and partnering with patients to create realistic, individualized treatment plans. Rather than telling patients what they should do, Alexis believes they should remain in the driver's seat of their own healthcare decisions. Her role is to provide education, guidance, and evidence-based recommendations in a compassionate, judgment-free environment where every patient feels respected, empowered, and supported.
